Stichting Fort Asperen organises, if possible every year, an event or exhibition related to art, the fort's history or nature. The foundation appoints a curator for this purpose, who also recruits other artists to the project. The events are renowned for their artistic quality and are generally very well received, as demonstrated by the huge interest in the national, regional and local media. The events and exhibitions are multidisciplinary and emphasise the location and architecture of Fort Asperen.

Two years ago, Lidewij Edelkoort was responsible for the successful exhibition ‘Armour, the fortification of man’. This year, Peter Greenaway will guarantee a very special exhibition in the fort, which is part of the New Dutch Water Line. The exhibition is being created by Peter Greenaway and The Kasander Film Company.
